Gentle beginnings

Some children run in on day one; others need a slower road. Both are completely normal — we shape settling in around your child, never a fixed timetable.

At your child's pace
The settling-in journey

How settling in works

1

Visit us together

A relaxed look around — meet the team, explore the rooms and outdoor space, ask anything.

2

Stay-and-play sessions

You stay nearby while your child explores and gets to know their key person.

3

Short sessions solo

A little while without you — always ending on a happy note — building up gradually.

4

Their full pattern

Once confident, your child moves to their agreed days, with their key person keeping you posted.

A place to feel safe

Familiar faces, soft corners

When your child first arrives, we keep things calm and cosy. Their key person is right there, ready with a story, a cuddle or a favourite toy until they feel ready to explore.

Our rooms are set up so there's always somewhere quiet to land — and always something tempting just around the corner.

Confidence grows through play

Before long, the aprons go on and the paints come out. Each small step — staying a little longer, joining a new activity — is celebrated at your child's pace.

You'll see it unfold on Famly: the first smile, the first friend, the moment they wave goodbye without a wobble.

Practical bits

What to bring

  • A named morning snack and packed lunch — we're nut-aware, so no nuts please. Fresh water is provided all day.

  • A full change of clothes (adventures can be messy).

  • Nappies and wipes if needed — we support toilet training when you're ready.

  • A small comforter if it helps — completely welcome.

And for the grown-ups

Wobbly goodbyes are normal — short, warm and confident helps. Message us any time in the early days and watch Famly for the photo that says it all: they're okay.

Come and see for yourself

The first step is a visit — together. Book one today and we'll reply within two working days.
